MRP G2 Carbon-Chain-Guide. Two Versatile Guides Get Lighter

MRPdebuted a carbon fiber version their G2 chainguide in search of lighter and stronger components. Thanks to the carbon boomerang design and the weight-optimized skid, the new guide is only 197g for the 36-40T size. The new upper arm design allows for greater compatibility and adjustability. The 32-36T version will weigh in at 170 grams. The upper ISCG bolt holds the adjustable arm in place, so no extra weight is required to adjust the arm. Carbon guides still have MRPs integrated bash guard technology, so your drivetrain will be protected.

MRPs Super-G2 chain guide uses a carbon fiber backing plate with an adjustable,slotted-aluminum upper guide-plate.

A clear polycarbonate bashguard is featured in the lower section of Super-G2’s Super-G2 guide.

The Super-G allows for independent adjustment of the lower and upper guides. This makes it possible to dial in the ideal position for each bike. This is especially useful for bikes with a dropped or pivot chainstay. Ryan Cranston is the MRP Product Manager.

The MRP 1.X guide is popular among 1 x 9 cross-country and all-mountain riders.

MRP also offers the 1.X (say won bye), guide. This guide was developed in collaboration with Giant XC Pro Adam Craig. The 1.X is only 58g and is ideal for cross-country riders who count grams and need reliable chain retention for their 1×9. Two sizes are available: 32-36T or 36-40T. For simplicity and light weight, the guide is bb mounted and has a adjustable upper guide that can be adjusted by chainline to dial it in exactly.

MRP is a small Colorado company. MRP is the preferred choice of champions with numerous World Cup and World Championship wins since 1996. MRP’s patent technologies have made them the world leader in chain retention.
